Sharon Dijksma, chair of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities, visited Loosdrecht to support Mayor Mark Verheijen following arson and vandalism at a new asylum seeker reception center. Both leaders condemned the violence as an attack on democracy and called for the full application of the rule of law to address such threats to authority.
The Dutch government is seeking a solution for Palestinian asylum seekers who have already been granted asylum in Greece but are reapplying in the Netherlands. While a small group is being returned to Greece, other applications are currently suspended while the individuals are provided with temporary shelter.

The Dutch National Action Committee for Students (LAKS) reports that nearly a third of the 430 noise complaints received during exams are related to fatbikes. Many of these complaints specifically involve loud fatbike alarms sounding on school grounds, disrupting students during their tests.
