Neighborhood fears new explosions and hopes family doesn't return to Hercules Street

Residents in Amsterdam's Marathonbuurt are protesting the potential return of a family to Herculesstraat after an explosion at their home in March caused significant damage and safety concerns. Neighbors have voiced fears of future violence and long-term nuisance, urging Mayor Femke Halsema and the housing corporation to prevent the family from moving back. While the mayor has not officially closed the property due to its current uninhabitable state, residents are calling for a permanent termination of the rental contract.
