Elsbeth Etty writes book on February Strike: How is it possible they dared

Journalist Elsbeth Etty has released a new book titled "We moeten iets dóén!" which explores the motivations of participants in Amsterdam's 1941 February strike against Nazi persecution. Through research into historical notebooks, Etty identified the real-life strikers who served as the inspiration for fictional characters in Theun de Vries' famous literary trilogy about the event. The book's release coincides with the 85th-anniversary commemoration of the strike held at the Dokwerker monument on February 25.
