Three suspects in court today for pelting anti-Black Pete protest

Three suspects are appearing in court today for their alleged involvement in the violent disruption of an anti-Black Pete protest in Volendam in December 2021. The defendants are charged with public violence and destruction after protesters were pelted with fish, eggs, and other objects. The case is being heard following a successful legal appeal by the Kick Out Zwarte Piet activist group against an initial decision not to prosecute.
