Experienced German Thilo Kehrer top candidate to strengthen Ajax defense; replacement for Godts also nearing completion

Ajax is currently working to bolster its squad with two key signings as the transfer window progresses. The club is in advanced negotiations with Monaco to secure 29-year-old German defender Thilo Kehrer on a loan deal. Kehrer, who has previously played for Paris Saint-Germain and West Ham United, is expected to provide essential depth and experience to the team's defensive core, specifically addressing a shortage of right-footed central defenders under coach Míchel Sánchez.

In addition to the defensive reinforcements, Ajax is nearing a deal to bring in 24-year-old Ivorian winger Simon Adingra from Sunderland on a temporary basis. The club has been searching for a new left-winger following the departure of Mika Godts to Paris Saint-Germain. Adingra, who spent time on loan at Monaco alongside Kehrer, is expected to finalize his move soon to fill the void left in the attacking lineup after other targets, such as Noa Lang, proved too expensive for the Dutch club.
