Visual artist Wesley Doran is presenting his first solo exhibition, To the Finder the Spoils, which explores his family's colonial history between Curaçao and the Netherlands. Visual artist and photographer Wesley Doran is exploring his dual heritage through his first solo exhibition, titled To the Finder the Spoils. By examining his family history connecting Curaçao and the Netherlands, Doran investigates themes of colonial legacy, cultural identity, and what is passed down through generations. The artist, who graduated from the HKU, incorporates a diverse range of materials into his practice, including analog photography, cyanotype prints, and physical objects collected from beaches. Through these mixed-media installations, he bridges the gap between historical archives and the present day.

Currently recognized as one of the winners of the creative talent search De Beeldmakers, organized by Het Parool, Vandejong, and Museumnacht Amsterdam, Doran continues to challenge perceptions of truth and history. His exhibition is currently on display at Atelier K84, where the artist is available to meet visitors. The show will remain open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays from September 4 through October 3.
