Shoot Your Shot is looking for young film talent

De Schuur in Haarlem is calling for submissions from young filmmakers aged 12 to 21 for its 2026 Shoot Your Shot competition under the theme 'Double.' Entrants can participate in workshops and compete for a jury or audience prize, which includes a one-week theatrical screening of the winning film.

The film institution de Schuur has officially opened registration for the 2026 edition of its annual youth competition, Shoot Your Shot. Young creators aged between 12 and 21 are invited to submit short films ranging from one to five minutes, with the current theme set as 'Double.' Eligible entries include various formats such as thrillers, music videos, animations, and video portraits, though current film academy students are prohibited from entering.

Participants can register individually or in teams for a fee of 15 euros, which grants access to specialized workshops, guidance, and inspiration provided by industry professionals at de Schuur. Submitted works will be evaluated by a jury of experts, while the public will also select a winner for the audience award. As a grand prize, the winning film will be screened as a pre-feature production at the venue for one full week. Interested candidates have until September 30 to submit their project ideas via the organization's official website.
