Group of men with bats and weapons attacks squatters: We smashed everything

A group of approximately fifteen men armed with bats, crowbars, and an axe forced their way into a squatted former school building in Zwanenburg on Tuesday. The intruders destroyed windows, damaged property, and threatened the two squatters present at the time, resulting in minor injuries. Local authorities confirmed that they arrived at the scene but made no arrests as the victims declined to file a formal complaint.

Following the violence, the squatters were officially evicted from the Kinheim property on Friday afternoon after failing to meet a municipal deadline for departure. The court had previously denied requests to delay the eviction process, citing concerns regarding public order and safety, particularly given the proximity of the building to a nearby school. While the local government condemned the vigilante violence used against the squatters, it emphasized that the building was unsafe and has since secured the premises with fences as it prepares for impending demolition.
