Jorg Grimm (50) has galleries in New York and London, but Amsterdam remains his base: 'Amsterdam is a beautiful city with a good art climate'

Jorg Grimm, who has run a contemporary art gallery for over twenty years, is opening a seventh location in Amsterdam on the Leidsegracht. This new space features a street-level design intended to be more accessible to the public, moving away from the private feel of his previous Keizersgracht location. Despite managing successful gallery branches in New York and London, Grimm remains committed to Amsterdam, praising its supportive environment for art and its unique position in the international market.

Beyond his commercial efforts, Grimm is expanding his operations with a new residency program in the Luberon region of Provence, France. This initiative provides a flexible space for artists to work, collaborate, and balance their professional lives with personal needs. Throughout his career, which began after his own academic studies in the arts and economics, Grimm has advocated for closer cooperation between galleries and museums to better support artists and cultivate a more vibrant, interconnected local art scene.
