Bridge strike causes cycling exodus across Schellingwouderbrug: "Commute takes twice as long"

A strike by ferry operators in Amsterdam has forced cyclists from the Noord district to take a detour across the Schellingwouderbrug, significantly increasing their commute times. The industrial action is a protest against the cabinet's planned austerity measures regarding social security benefits.
