Halsema: Fining homeless people in doorways remains possible if outdoor sleeping ban is scrapped

Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema has stated that even if the city removes the ban on sleeping in public, homeless individuals could still be fined for sleeping in doorways under laws regarding nuisance behavior. This clarification comes as the city council debates the effectiveness and morality of penalizing those experiencing homelessness, following concerns from residents about public disturbances.
