Paulien Cornelisse cancels theater shows due to health reasons

Comedian Paulien Cornelisse has officially cancelled her upcoming theater show titled Waar was ik gebleven due to ongoing health challenges. The production was scheduled to run at the DeLaMar theater from October through January, marking her intended return to the stage. However, the venue announced that the show cannot proceed as her current energy levels and health recovery process prevent her from performing. Because the production relied on a specific set design belonging to another show, it is impossible to reschedule the performance dates.

This cancellation follows Cornelisse's earlier decision in 2024 to pause her previous tour, Komma, to focus entirely on her cancer treatment. Recently, the performer shared insights into her journey during an appearance on the television program De slimste mens, where she discussed the impact of chemotherapy and her choice to wear a head covering while recovering. Both the artist and the management of DeLaMar have expressed deep regret that the long-awaited performances cannot take place as planned.
