Cables for mega ADE party will already be hanging from the roof when Ajax plays Atalanta

Organizers of the Amsterdam Music Festival are undertaking a record-breaking, rapid construction process at the Johan Cruijff Arena to accommodate both an Ajax football match and the festival this week. Technicians are using pre-rigging techniques in the stadium roof to ensure the complex production can be assembled in time for the event on Saturday.

The Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF), the largest event within the Amsterdam Dance Event, is facing a logistical challenge this year due to a scheduling conflict at the Johan Cruijff Arena. Because Ajax is scheduled to host Atalanta in a football match on Thursday, organizers have only a very narrow window to prepare the stadium for the music festival taking place on Saturday. Dennis de Bruin of the event company Insomniac noted that this rapid turnaround is unprecedented in the Netherlands.

To manage the tight timeline, technicians began pre-rigging the venue days in advance, installing significant amounts of equipment, including 1,400 square meters of LED screens, into the ceiling. De Bruin stated that these installations will remain unobtrusive during the football match, ensuring that supporters are unaffected. Following the game, a large crew will move in on Friday morning to finalize the production setup in time for the festival's commencement on Saturday evening at 8:00 PM.
