Exhibition on femicide on display in Diemen for three weeks

A traveling exhibition highlighting the issue of femicide opens tomorrow in Diemen to share the stories of women killed by their partners. The display aims to raise awareness about domestic violence and provide information on recognizing early warning signs of abuse.
A traveling exhibition dedicated to raising awareness about femicide is set to open in front of the town hall in Diemen tomorrow morning. The display features the poignant stories of thirteen women who were killed by their current or former partners, sharing their lives through the personal testimonies of their surviving relatives. The initiative aims to shed light on the prevalence of domestic violence, noting that a woman is murdered in the Netherlands approximately every eight days, often at the hands of a partner.
Beyond sharing individual stories, the exhibition serves as an educational tool to help the public identify early warning signs of dangerous relationship dynamics. Visitors are encouraged to recognize behaviors such as stalking, manipulative control, threats, and physical or sexual violence. Having already visited twenty-one other locations across the country, the installation will remain accessible to the public at the D.J. Den Hartoglaan until November 17.
