Voting for district committees on Wednesday too, but what do they do?

Amsterdam residents will vote this Wednesday for both the city council and district committees, which serve as a link between local neighborhoods and the municipal government. These committees provide advice and represent community interests, even though they do not have final decision-making power. Additionally, an experiment is being conducted allowing 16 and 17-year-olds to cast their ballots for the district committee elections.

5 murals in Delftwijk and East
