Little disappointment among South and Red Light District residents over scrapped erotic center
Residents of Amsterdam's South and Red Light districts have reacted positively to the decision by political parties PRO and D66 to scrap plans for a large centralized erotic center. Instead of a single building, the city will now investigate multiple smaller locations to reduce the number of prostitution windows in the Wallen area. Mayor Femke Halsema, who previously supported the project, stated she was not surprised by the decision included in the new coalition agreement.
